Our Liturgy
The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is not an earned reward for one's behavior. It is a gift freely given by God to impart to all the baptized, affiliated or not to a particular denomination, the grace necessary for our salvation. Therefore, we welcome all to the Holy Table of Christ and refuse Communion to no person who seeks it reverently. Christ did not refuse to feed the physically or spiritually hungry--neither do we.
Good Shepherd Old Catholic Church is enthusiastically committed to the welcome and inclusion of all people of faith in our worship and life.
Following the tradition of the Eastern Churches, our altar bread is leavened and normally prepared by our parishioners. In addition to the traditional elements of bread and sacramental wine consecrated for the Holy Body and Blood of Christ, pure grape juice is also consecrated for those individuals who wish to receive in this form. Please, know that gluten-free altar bread is available upon request.
